Licensing and attribution

Every model here is built on someone else's open work, and every model page names that upstream. This page explains what each licence asks of you. It is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.

What the catalogue carries

All three allow commercial use and modification. Every model page shows its licence, its upstream model, the upstream licence, an attribution sentence, and a NOTICE block you can paste.

Not in this catalogue

No NLLB-based or other non-commercial (NC) or no-derivatives (ND) models.
No Bible-corpus "WindyScripture" variants: their source texts carry mixed and sometimes non-commercial terms, so they are held back while under review.
No plain mirrors of upstream repositories and no duplicate copies held in other organisations.

Under review

13 older translation repos are tagged CC-BY-4.0 on Hugging Face while their OPUS-MT upstream is Apache-2.0: translate-aav-en, translate-aed-es, translate-af-de, translate-af-en, translate-af-eo, translate-af-es, translate-af-fi, translate-af-fr, translate-af-nl, translate-af-ru, translate-NORTH_EU-NORTH_EU, translate-ROMANCE-en, translate-SCANDINAVIA-SCANDINAVIA.
3 speech repos are tagged Apache-2.0 while their Distil-Whisper upstream is MIT: listen-windy-distil-large, listen-windy-distil-medium, listen-windy-distil-small.
49 single-language speech models (listen-windy-lingua-*) come from community Whisper fine-tunes whose lineage is mostly undocumented. Check before commercial use.

Until these are resolved, keep the upstream licence terms and attribution with any copy you distribute.
